Microsoft Exchange 2010 on Dell Systems: Simple Distributed Configurations

5,000 Mailboxes, up to 3GB each, Multi-Site Configuration, on

PowerEdge R620 with PowerVault MD1200

This reference architecture utilizes the Multi-role server and storage ―bricks‖ with external storage. It

has been sized to provide mailbox sizes of up to 3GB each. The Mailbox IO profile is sized for up to 100

messages per mailbox per day with 20% IO headroom to accommodate up to 0.12 IOPs per mailbox.

This solution delivers high availability using Exchange 2010 mailbox resiliency with a three copy

Database Availability Group (DAG). One active copy and one passive copy are local. The third copy

resides on a remote site.
