Closing the System
1. Lift up the latch on the cover.
2. PlacethecoverontopofthesystemandoffsetthecoverslightlybacksothatitclearsthechassisJhooksandlaysflatonthesystemchassis.See
Figure3-3.
3. LowerthecoverintotheclosedpositionaligningitwiththeJhooksandpushdownonthelatchtoguidethecoverintoplace.
4. Rotate the latch release lock in a clockwise direction to secure the cover.
Cooling Fan Modules
This system contains four cooling fan modules, each comprised of two dual-rotorfans,foratotalofeightfansthatareconnecteddirectlytothesystemboard.
Removing a Cooling Fan Module
1. Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and peripherals.
2. Open the system. See Opening and Closing the System.
3. Raise the fan handle, disconnect the module wire harness from the system board, and pull the fan straight up to clear the chassis. See Figure3-4.
4. Unplug the fan module connector.
